Workshop runs from 10am – 4:30pm
(Centre doors open from 9am – 5:30pm)
You’ll begin with an overview of designing to energy efficient principles using various methods of construction. You will discover what it means to build using the principles of Passivhaus design. This will be followed by experienced, expert advice on how to obtain planning consent for your project and key considerations for self-builders.
The focused workshop will also introduce some sustainable building materials and the importance of air-tightness and insulation, particularly when considering heat-pumps and ventilation. You’ll explore investing in solar – with an introduction to the primary design requirements, specifications & key ancillary technologies (battery storage & electric vehicle chargers) to maximise the solar contribution for new builds.
