Introducing your South East Winner of Small Scale Project of the Year!
The South East regional Energy Efficiency Awards were held at the Sofitel Gatwick on Friday 14th July 2023, and the event was a great success, securing the regions largest turn out since the awards started in 2014.

H.D. Services were in attendance and waited with baited breath for the winners to be announced in all 11 categories.
We are very excited to announce that we and our partners, Kensa, managed to pip the other entrants to the post and secure the Small Scale Project of the Year Award for the South East region.

The Regional Small Scale Project of the Year Award rewards one exceptional project, in each of the 11 Regional areas around the UK, where energy efficiency measures of less than £250,000 have been installed.
This award recognises the efforts of all those involved locally in delivering a successful small scale energy saving project, while maintaining excellent customer service that demonstrates a high standard of quality workmanship throughout the project.

In February 2021, we were asked to provide a quote for an open-loop ground source heat pump
system to provide heating and hot water to planned property with a floor area of approximately 500m2. This was a custom build project and we were able to advise the customer on the benefits of an open-loop system including the potential for a potable water supply as well as the water supply borehole providing build water for the construction project. The project was successfully completed without incident and registered with the MCS and is in receipt of the domestic RHI.
Kensa heat pumps are some of the most efficient units available. When they are utilised in a system with a heat source temperature of at least 8ºC as in our open-loop system which utilise ground water as a heat source, their efficiency significantly improves and SCOPs in excess of 4.5 can be achieved (in comparison to the SCOP for an inlet temperature of 0ºC). This means that for every 1kW of power put into the heat pump, 4.5kW of heat is produced.
