New wetland programme will help protect rivers and much loved chalk stream habitats in the East of England.

A new wetland programme from Anglian Water proposes the creation of 26 new treatment wetlands across the East of England.

It is part of a commitment called ‘Get River Positive’ and has been welcomed by the Rivers Trust conservation group.

The projects will be modelled on Anglian Waters flagship River Ingol wetland, launched in 2019. This project operates as a natural treatment plant for millions of litres of water as well as a habitat and haven for wildlife.
