Business as usual won’t tackle the challenges we face.
The Environment Agency warns that if we don’t make the most of the opportunity current pandemic has presented, we loose the opportunity to shape a better future.
Shifts in attitude and understanding towards our environment, in response to COVID-19, provides us with the chance to create more climate resilient places and infrastructure by ensuring the nation is prepared for flooding, costal damage and drought.
The first phase of the project includes improving nearly 4000km of rivers, creating more than 1200 hectares of habitat by the end of 2021 and being on track to be carbon neutral by 2030.
