Ecobuild 2013
HD Services attended Ecobuild at the ExCel Centre in London last week.
EcoBuild is ‘the largest showcase of sustainable construction products anywhere’, and expected to attract in excess of 60,000 visitors.
The show included seminars, conferences, high-level discussion and debate covering everything from the Green Deal to Climate Change, from Greening our Cities to Reinventing the High Street.
Thousands of exhibitors attended to promote their sustainable construction products, from 100% recycled carpet tiles to the latest innovation in energy generating revolvong doors – everything is covered!
HD Services attended several of the seminars and conferences, and was particularly interested to hear Ed Davey speak regarding the success of the Green Deal.
Mr Davey highlighted the fact the the key to reducing emissions in order to tackle climate change was a long term transformation and that the aim of the Green Deal is to reduce the amount of energy required and to enable households to move away from Gas.
He stated that there are now 40 approved Green Deal Providers (financing for the measures to be installed to the property) 75 approved Green Deal Assessors and over 600 Green Deal certified Installers.
Formal quarterly Green Deal reports will be issued through Official Government Statistics, starting this Spring.
