‘Gaia’s Energy Adventure!’ – the new book designed to educate about off shore renewables
Academics and graduates from the University of Plymouth have helped to create a new book designed to educate and inspire young children about offshore renewable energy.
The book – ‘Gaia’s Energy Adventure!’ – is written for four to six-year-olds and aims to help them and those reading with them understand more about the often complex world of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy.
Its creators also hope it will inspire girls and those from other underrepresented groups to consider a future career in engineering.

HD are a family run company and so we are continuously trying to engage our own children and young people with renewable energy, sustainability and climate change. Books and age appropriate information play (and will continue to play) a crucial part in their education and understanding of these topics and aid in the development of a better, cleaner and more sustainable future for all. Now we just need something similar for the general public regarding heat pumps and they vital role they will pay in decarbonising the domestic heating sector, as much of the information available is confusing, complex and inaccurate or misleading.
