An interesting article in Farmers Weekly explains the advantage of utilising renewable heat if you are a poultry farmer, with a useful guide outlining the benefits of ground source heat pumps which even highlights the different types of GSHP system available! (For us here at H.D. this particular fact is a massive result as Open-Loop GSHP systems are almost never mentioned when talking about GSHP options! Score!)

Ground-source heat pumps offer a good solution for poultry units, with a low carbon footprint and the advantage that they can cool as well as warm spaces to keep a flock at the ideal temperature, whatever the weather.
Initial investment costs are high but they have a long working life, are relatively cheap to run and attract a government incentive, all of which makes them an increasingly popular choice.
