5 ways to adopt a more water-efficient approach to gardening
As temperature again start to rise, the RHS and Water UK have joined forces to urge households to adopt a more water-efficient approach to gardening.
The aim is to remind gardeners to use water sparingly, particularly when watering thirsty plants during a heatwave.

Janet Manning, RHS Water Management Specialist, says:
Gardens have provided solace for many during this lockdown and the RHS is delighted to see a growing number of gardeners working on their gardens and green spaces during this time…. We want to continue supporting gardeners from all around the UK especially those re-discovering their gardens, but also encourage everyone to think carefully about the water they are using, particularly with the sunshine we’ve been experiencing.
Water UK Chief Executive, Christine McGourty says:
If everyone uses water carefully, cutting back a little where they can by using a watering can instead of a sprinkler, for example, that makes a big difference.
