Latest RHI changes

With the domestic RHI due for launch in a matter of weeks, it is imperative that installers are up to date with the rules to ensure that clients are getting the most out of the scheme.

Legacy Applications

Those who have invested in a renewable heat installation since 15th July 2009 should still be able to apply for payments under the scheme. However, as legacy applications will only be able to apply in the first year, it is imperative that clients act quickly. As installers it is important for us to contact those clients and advise them accordingly.

RHPP applicants (whose voucher was applied for before 20th May 2013) will have to wait three months after the launch of the scheme before they can apply as the RHI will be available first to those people whose installations were not part funded. All legacy applications will be able to apply from August 2014.

New Installations

Applications for the RHI must be made within 12 months of the commissioning date of the installation.

The degression policy only affects new customers and means that the DECC will drop the tariff rate by 10% if a ‘trigger’ figure for the number of applications recieved for an individual technology is reached.

HD Services Ltd

HD Services Ltd will regularly check the monthly updates of progress towards the triggers which will be published on the gov.uk website, and advise clients accordingly.

HD Services Ltd are also developing good links with independent Green Deal Advisors who are able to advise clients on the best way to make their home more energy efficient prior to the installation of any renewable heat technology.
